It’s not easy trying to find a stable job nowadays especially with the economy still being in a bit of a rut. Working jobs that involve caring for kids and other vulnerable individuals can be potentially lucrative, but trying to get a job that will allow you to do this might not be as easy as you think. Employers who run daycare centers, hospices, and other places where vulnerable individuals are being cared for require all their applicants to undergo an online DBS check before they allow them to continue further into the hiring process. This is the only way for an employer to determine if an applicant is fit enough to work for his company.
There are some certain pieces of information that you will never be able to get out of an applicant during a job interview. No applicant in his right mind would ever divulge any information regarding his past especially if he has a criminal record. A DBS check will only be available if an employer is allowed to ask any questions that are regulated by the Exceptions Order to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Actof 1974. If a DBS check shows that one of the applicants does have a criminal record or a history of mental instability, then it will be up to the employer to decide whether or not to hire that person. (more…)
